ALUMINIUM MULTI-FUNCTION AND ARCHITECTURAL LIGHT POLES FOR SMART CITIES
OUR 1000th POLE
On 24th June 2020 Urban Aluminium dispatched its 1000th pole. The pole was part of a third order of poles destined for the Smart City roll out in Griffith in regional NSW.
Congratulations to our teams in NSW, WA, SA, QLD, and Tasmania who helped achieve this milestone.
Urban Aluminium is pleased to announce that we have signed a distribution agreement to supply the FlagTrax™ banner raising system on our Multi-function Smart poles as well our decorative architectural poles.
The growth of decorative and advertising banners on light poles in the public domain highlighted a costly problem whereby the changing of a fixed banner required elevated work platforms, road closures, traffic controls and many other compliance issues.
For this reason, FlagTrax™ was developed to enable banners to be changed from ground level using a patented push/pull system.
FlagTrax is a product of Nexus Developments from New Zealand and is also available on our sister company GM Poles products.
Urban Aluminium launched its new Multi-Function Smart Pole range at Lighting and Smart Controls Conference the International Conference Centre in Darling Harbour, Sydney in April 2019.
The internationally attended Conference covered many Smart City innovations and was a great platform to unveil the new range of Smart poles and IoT accessories. Our thanks must go to Signfy who provided us space on their stand.
URBAN ALUMINIUM MULTI-FUNCTION POLES
IN THE CITY OF PERTH.
Congratulations to our WA Distributor, AD Coote and Co, for the successful assembly and delivery of Urban Aluminium’s Multi-Function poles for the City of Perth East End Revitalisation project. Comprising over 60 Aluminium Multi-function poles with mounting accessories for banners, wi-fi, smart lighting, spotlights, traffic signals and general power outlets, the project is one of the first under a five-year supply contract awarded by the City of Perth to AD Coote for the supply of UA Multi-Function Smart poles.
UA has celebrated its 2nd birthday – We have come a long way in two years having developed our manufacturing facility, launched a range of Aluminium Pole products, manufactured and delivered our 1000th pole, and built a distribution network in NSW, WA, SA, QLD, TAS and NZ including assembly facilities in WA, QLD and NZ.
We are proud to hold multiple long-term supply contracts and have our products standing in 51 Council areas across Australia.
Thanks goes to our dedicated, professional, and passionate staff who have been instrumental in achieving our growth as well as our “big-sister” company GM Poles whose support and experience has been gratefully received.
NEW CNC MACHINE
July 16th 2020 marked the arrival of our new CNC machine located in our Sydney factory.
Funded by a Federal Government Grant, the new CNC machine will enable more efficient production of our aluminium Smart Poles, Architectural poles, and bespoke specials.
Our thanks go to the Federal member for Berowra, Julian Lesser MP, who recently toured our facilities and said "the support came at an incredibly important time for the local manufacturing sector and will not only strengthen our business but will be an investment in a growing company that provides jobs for Australians, particularly as we face this unprecedented pandemic”.
Urban Aluminium is proud to be part of the Electric Vehicle Highway Tasmania Project. This project is to roll out EV charging stations across Tasmania to cater for the growing number of electric vehicles now in use throughout the state. The poles are a modified version of our multi-function community pole, housing a Jetcharge charging system and payment facility and using our patented bracket mounting system for CCTV, lighting and signage. The poles were supplied through our Tasmanian Distributor Southern Lighting and Distribution Pty Ltd.
Urban Aluminium are proud to have been appointed by Lake Macquarie City Council to manufacture install, and commission Solar Smart Poles to the foreshore walkway and cycle way at Warners Bay, south of Newcastle.
The contract required a system that was solar powered that could illuminate the pathway to a PP2 level and have surplus capacity to power a range of Smart City technologies that could be added to the pole in the future, either internally or externally, using an integrated accessory mounting system.
The pole supplied was the UAMFP Campus pole with 5 separate powered compartments to house technologies. The solar equipment package was an Orca Solar Vertex system with batteries and energy management controls housed within the pole structure. The Urban Aluminium team also designed and constructed shallow pad footings to all poles to mitigate issues with the high-water table due to Lake Macquarie’s close proximity. We look forward to assisting with the next stage of the roll out.
